About the guild

Stitched together since 1995

What began as a small group of quilters is now a guild of many makers with a busy workshop calendar, and hundreds of quilts warming the community each year.

Our story

In the spring of 1995 a group of quilters held an organizational meeting to found the Northern Piecemakers Quilt Guild. The founding members were Marion Clarkson, Alice Chrenek, Janet Jones, Linda Speele, Betty Eskdale, Nikki Crissfield and Debbie Thomas. The Guild held their first meeting in September 1995 at the Golden Age Center. Thirty-one years later the guild has gotten bigger, but the spirit is the same: share what you know, help with the hard seams, and admire every finish.

We welcome hand and machine quilters, traditional and modern, brand-new and long-practiced. If you love fabric, you belong here.

What we value

Craft, generosity, and a welcoming chair

Craft. We honor the traditions of quilting while making room for new techniques and voices.

Generosity. Our charity quilts and outreach are the heart of the guild — making is better when it warms someone else.

Belonging. No gate, no judgment. Bring a half-finished block and a question; leave with an answer and a friend.
